How I found my passion...I woke up in someone else's dream. Was this my life? Was this the life I wanted to live? I took a good strong look at my life and thought - "how did that happen?"
I was struggling financially, overspending, overcompensating for all the dreams I had put on hold. I was in a very dysfunctional relationship, working a job I didn’t even like a little. I didn’t have any true friends, my family ran my life. I remember in my haze of unfulfillment saying to myself “maybe dreams are exactly that: dreams. Maybe they aren’t meant to come true.” |
But I was very unhappy and became more and more unhappy as I dug myself deeper into this horrible life of mine. So one day I thought to myself: “When was I the last time I remember being happy?” And I had to go all the way back to my middleschool days, singing in the school choir. Even I was astonished that I had managed to be miserable almost my entire life. And the one thing that had made me happy - music - I had put on indefinite hold.
So, I took my first vulnerable step in the direction of my passion, I joined a choir.
Fast forward 10 years... I am now living in a different country, making a comfortable living off of doing what I love. I have wonderful true friends, a husband I adore and a dog that drives me crazy - in the best way. I never wanted children, but if I had, I’m sure I would have them by now too.
This is the platform where I share my journey from that life deprived of passion to this one - my passionate life. I am hoping by sharing from this place of passion I can help your journey to a passionate life be shorter and less arduous than mine.
